A Lot Of Christians Act Like House Helps And Don't Even Know It

"Seek First" is a platform inspired from Matthew 6:33 where we are encouraged to Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, live righteously, and everything we need will be given to us.

Our objective is to show you the practicality of this verse and hopefully inspire you to seek Him first daily. We use the S.O.A.P model as a study guide to help fulfill this mandate. We pick different scriptures and try to figure out how we can apply them to our daily lives, how they relate to the Kingdom of God and how we can live righteously through them. (S)cripture: John 9:1-3 (NLT) "As Jesus was walking along, He saw a man who had been blind from birth. Rabbi, His disciples asked Him, why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents sins? It was not because of his sins or his parents sins, Jesus answered. This happened so the power of God could be seen in Him"

(O)bservation: One of the stories that has always confounded me in the Bible was when God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, He told Abraham about it and they started negotiating, and i thought "is he really negotiating with GOD?"😧

Moses did the same thing when God told him to go back to Egypt, he started giving excuses and God wasn't silent, He kept on responding to him and even offered solutions to help deal with his fears. 😳

King David was just another kettle of fish entirely, his Psalms give us evidence of his many conversations with the Almighty God. When he was angry he let God know, when he was scared He opened up to Him, could this be why God referred to him as a man after His own Heart? 😏

But when i read the verse, the first thing that stuck out to me was the fact that the disciples asked Jesus a question "Rabbi, His disciples asked Him..." they asked because they were in a relationship with Jesus, and through that relationship they knew He was approachable and they would get a response from Him.

John 15:15 says "I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since i have told you everything the Father told me"

"Slaves are given Instructions, Friends ask Questions!!!"

If the disciples didn't ask Jesus that question, can you imagine what they would have been thinking? Oh actually, no need to imagine...they actually tell us in the verse..."...was it because of his own sins or his parents' sins?".

I guess we could say if Jesus wasn't there, this would have been their conclusion...but because of their question, they got access to the truth, they received an answer that was totally contrary to their beliefs. The man had been born blind so that he could reveal the power of God. In other words, not every problem we have is "Cause & Effect", not every problem is because of a past mistake...some problems come to reveal the power of God in our lives to the world

Have you asked God a question today?

(A)pplication: We've all used Google search at some point over the past few days...one thing i have noticed is, the quality of questions you ask google determines the quality of answers you get from it. It is the same with God, Psalm 18:25-26 says "To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd"

When you receive an instruction from God, remember you are His friend...ask more questions, have a conversation about it. When you read the Bible, ask questions, that is what "SEEK FIRST" is all about using the S.O.A.P study guide. I remember a few months ago, i was listening to a message and i got the urge to fast for 7days straight without food and immediately I started it...it only lasted two and a half days. What if i had probed further? What if i had asked how He wanted me to structure the fast? But Father, i have only ever done 2days straight before, should i break once a day over the next 7days? I acted as a slave, not a friend. Which one do you want to be?

(P)rayer: Father, I just want to thank You for being my Friend, as Great as You are, You have chosen to have a relationship with mere dust like me. Thank You for the Grace you've given to me through Your Son Jesus Christ to be able to seek clarity with You. It is an honor and privilege to be your adopted son and friend. I ask that for everyone reading this, You will help them ask the right questions in Jesus Name!!!
