1 Peter 2:1-3 "SEEK FIRST"

"Seek First" is a platform inspired from Matthew 6:33 where we are encouraged to Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, live righteously, and everything we need will be given to us.

Our objective is to show you the practicality of this verse and hopefully inspire you to seek Him first daily. We use the S.O.A.P model as a study guide to help fulfill this mandate. We pick different scriptures and try to figure out how we can apply them to our lives, how they relate to the Kingdom of God and how we can live righteously through them

(S)cripture: 1 Peter 2:1-3 “So get rid of all evil behaviour. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of Salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lords kindness”

(O)bservation: The Kingdom of God is a growth process that starts with MILK, and not just milk, but Pure Milk. Just like babies can't eat proper food immediately, new believers in Christ are expected to crave this milk so that they can get rid of all evil behaviour. 

I have seen Christians who receive the Gospel of Christ and immediately start working in church, they start listening to every kind of sermon...this is similar to eating solid food as a baby, it can potentially harm you more than it can help you. As a new believer, you should take Pure Milk, straight from the Word of God. Some children take formula, but doctors usually advise and prefer breast milk (Pure milk) because it is good for the growth of children. 

This milk is required in order to fully experience salvation. This might explain why some christians are saved but aren't really manifesting the promises of salvation. Could it be that they skipped a step in the process of their development?

(A)pplication: Focus on the getting the Pure Milk as stated in Hebrew 6:1-3 "So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don't  need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgement. And so God willing, we will move forward to further understanding" 

In in the context of Gods Kingdom/Government, Pure Milk is like getting access to the basic amenities of the country (health care, housing, food, etc)

(P)rayer: Father, i just thank You for the Gift of Salvation...i ask for the Grace to fully experience the life you died to give me...as i drink the milk of your word, let it nourish every part of my being and give me the patience to stick with your milk until i am ready for solid food in Jesus Name.
