Bread Addict!!!

While i was at University, i had a friend who had to be addicted to bread…i mean, this guy would eat bread and egg for breakfast, bread and coke for lunch, bread and ketchup for dinner…infact one day i had to ask Google “what sort of disease can one get from eating too much bread?” No jokes

But the day i knew this guys problem was deep…we went to Tesco, and normally there is usually a tag on the bread that indicates when the bread would expire. My friend didn’t check these tags, he simply squeezed the sides of the bread and with accuracy told me when they would expire without looking…what kind of magic trick was this? He had eaten bread so much he knew instinctively how long it would take for moulds to start appearing.

Whenever you see moulds on bread no matter how small…its an indication that the bread has been infected, the bread has been influenced by the mould. I believe this concept is what Jesus was trying to illustrate in Matthew 13:33 “…the Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough”

As Christians, we have been called to a life of “Influence”, no matter how small we are or how small our roles are, we have been called to stand out from the crowd. To be light and salt to the earth, just like the mould influences the bread…we have been called to positively influence our environment in a similar way.
