This Currency Has Always Been Worth More Than The Dollar! (Acts 3:3-8)

(S)cripture:

Acts 3:3 - 8 "When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, 'Look at us!'. The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, 'I don't have any silver or gold for you. But I'll give you what i have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk'. Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man's feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them"

(O)bservation:

1) One of the many things that excites me about life, is how we are never too far away from the breakthroughs we are looking for.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 says we all share 2 things in common as human beings "Time" & "Chance".

Unfortunately, our education does not guarantee success, the strongest team doesn't always win the trophy, but it is how we manage our "Time" and the "Chances" that come our way, that distinguishes us from the crowd.

This lame man came to the Temple at the right time, and got the chance to ask 2 men for money so that he could maintain his problem, but he had no idea that life was about to present him an opportunity to walk for the very first time in his life (he was lame from birth).

I believe everyday, life presents us with new opportunities in hidden vessels. What if this lame man was waiting to see only rich looking people passing by before asking for money? What if he was too shy to ask Peter and John, this lame man would have died with the regret of never getting the opportunity to walk, not knowing that the chance presented itself but he didn't recognise it.

There is someone you will meet today that has the power to change your situation, they may not look like it, but they will possess the "Time" & "Chance" you've been waiting for. This is why Jesus said "Love your neighbour as yourself"

What would happen, if we decided to treat everyone just the way we would want to be treated? By displaying acts of love even to our enemies, we engage in "Chance" transactions that could lead to the explosive breakthroughs that would blow our minds away, breakthroughs that would make us walk for the first time.

2) We've all been taught at some point how we just need to speak to our situations and everything will be fine. "Peter said, 'I don't have any silver or gold for you. But I'll give you what i have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk' "

Peter spoke to the situation, commanded the man to get up and walk, but guess what, he was still lame. Let me show you how this lame man got to walk..."Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man's feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened"

"AND AS HE DID" - And as Peter acted on what he had confessed, the mans legs were strengthened. Faith without works is dead!

Are you praying to God for $1m today, what actions are you currently making to take hold of it? You want to get married, what actions are you currently making to become the right person for marriage? It is not just enough to pray and confess the word, there needs to be evident action to support your confessions.

(A)pplication:

1) Treat everyone like you were meeting Bill Gates for the first time

Matthew 25: 42-445 "For i was hungry, and you didn't feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn't give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn't invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn't give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn't visit me. Then they will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you? And he will answer, i tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sister, you were refusing to help me"

Imagine you saw Bill Gates hungry or thirsty? How would you respond? What if you saw Jesus Christ Himself homeless? or naked? Treat people the way you would treat Jesus! Engage people in conversation, treat them with respect, don't overlook anyone because they don't look like you...you could be overlooking your breakthrough

2) After praying, close your eyes and ask God for an action plan. What steps can you take to make that prayer a reality? We are now partners with God, He will not do for you, what you can do for yourself. Any prayer that puts all the responsibility on God, is an irresponsible prayer!

He will send the answer to your prayers in people, it is your job to draw the answers out through loving interactions with them. Showing love is no longer just a virtue, it is now a currency! USE IT!!!

(P)rayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your mercy that is renewed every morning. Open my eyes Lord, help me show love to everyone i come in contact with today, it is not always about giving money, the lame man came for money but You opened Peters eyes to give Him something more...Father, i know that i have you, help me put You on display in the lives of others in Jesus Name. Let the sick be healed through this empty vessel, let blind eyes open, the dead raised back to life...You have not changed, if You could do it through Peter, You can do it through Muyiwa in Jesus Name!

"Seek First" is a platform inspired from Matthew 6:33 where we are encouraged to Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, live righteously, and everything we need will be given to us.

Our objective is to show you the practicality of this verse and hopefully inspire you to seek Him first daily. We use the S.O.A.P model as a study guide to help fulfill this mandate. We pick different scriptures and try to figure out how we can apply them to our daily lives, how they relate to the Kingdom of God and how we can live righteously through them.
