Are You Sending The Wrong Message?
I remember just about 6years ago now, i was still in the world operating a hybrid lifestyle between being a student and a "pick up" artist. I had a friend who had just given his life to "Christ", i was so jealous...this is what i've been looking for...i knew my current lifestyle was wrong, how did this guy do it? I was intrigued, so i started watching him...he would post stuff online but he was still the same guy, "Are we going to the club tonight?" "OF COURSE"
Hmmm...who am i to judge? Little but big things like this continued to happen, but i admired his dedication to his online devotionals, his attempts to get me to see reason, then one day all of a sudden he just snapped back into his old life and i remember being very disappointed because i thought to myself "if this guy couldn't do it, what chance do i have?"
Romans 2:23 says "You are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonour God by breaking it. No wonder the scriptures say 'THE GENTILES BLASPHEME THE NAME OF GOD BECAUSE OF YOU"
In the Lords prayer, the first line says "Our Father in Heaven, may your name be kept Holy or Hallowed be your name" Jesus wanted us to pray that Gods name, Gods brand be always respected because He knew that if He could have some people who honored His name, the lives of others could be transformed through them.
As Christians we need to understand that most people will never read the Bible, but our lives will be the reflection of the God we claim to serve
When Christian marriages don't work, we dishonour Gods name and give unbelievers the right to do the same thing
When Christian politicians get into government and we do not see the difference, they dishonor Gods name and give unbelievers the right to do the same thing.
Wherever you are right now, as an employee or entrepreneur, if you are in government? what are you doing that is reflecting the Image of God...are you enhancing or further distorting the Image of God to those around you?
I just want to challenge us today...we all know the right things to do, even if you don't feel like doing them...remember someones watching...do it for them!!!
